# Departments

> Group your team into departments, like Sales and Support.

Departments organize your team, for example **Sales** and **Support**. A chat's department shows in **Visitor details** in the [Inbox](https://docs.emplorium.io/inbox/overview.md#about-the-visitor).

Settings › Departments.

## Create a department

1. Open **Settings › Departments** and click **Create department**.
2. Give it a name and a **description**, then save.

To put a teammate in a department, open **Settings › Teammates**, choose **Edit Agent** for them and pick the **Department**.
